Welcome to the third poster in the Dear First Years series. This poster aims to address key challenges that students may face throughout the year. These may include procrastination, stress because of a groupwork project or maybe you have exams coming up and you are struggling to concentrate because you are fasting.
It is vital to talk about your problems because keeping them inside you will only make it tougher for you to go about your day. Although chemical engineering is a challenging degree, your lecturers don’t want you to break apart, and are there for you if you need academic support.
Remember, your lecturers are not robots who come in just to talk words at you and then leave, they are people who have also gone through difficult moments in life and want to support you so that you can do your best, despite the challenges you may encounter. So DON’T BE AFRAID TO ASK FOR SUPPORT.

The poster contains four images. On the top left, there is a girl wearing a purple hijab who is winking and holding her hand in the ‘peace’ sign. On the top right, there is a boy in a green hoodie smiling and winking too. On the bottom left, there is a picture of a boy talking on the phone. On the bottom right, there is a picture of a hijabi girl writing in her notebook, talking to another hijabi girl. The two girls are on a call together.

There are three images on this poster. On the top left, there is a girl sat at her desk, but she is falling asleep on her laptop. On the top right, there is a boy staring at his phone, looking disappointed in himself. On the bottom row, there is a picture of three friends, two boys and one girl, and they are sat on the floor, talking to each other.
