Welcome to the second poster of the ‘Dear First Years’ series! As the title suggests, this poster contains six top tips to help you make the most of your labs!
You may have had your first trip to the lab to collect your lab coats and goggles, and might have been overwhelmed by how different the lab looks compared to your lab in secondary school. Everything’s so pristine white, the equipment is much fancier, and the expectation to produce high-level work seems to linger in your mind like a heavy weight.
The aim of this poster is to help you navigate this new aspect of your chemical engineering journey. You should approach your lab sessions with the intent of learning something new and applying the knowledge in your lab report. Remember, your first lab report won’t be your best one, and that’s okay. Don’t let the disappointment stop you from enjoying your labs, as labs are also a session where you can connect with people on your course and learn about how they think about problems.
