Dear First Years …
Entering your first year of university can be a bit like falling into a deep ocean. You’re in a new environment, you’re meeting new people and the learning style is very different from when you were in sixth form. With any degree, especially with a rigorous (but highly rewarding) subject like engineering, it is important that you have the right support available to help you stay afloat.
If you are in your first year of chemical engineering and want some advice with different aspects of your course, for example, labs, tips on how to make the most of your year, how to overcome feeling like you’re not smart enough .. this is the place for you!
Hopefully these posters can help you to address the situations you may face at university and overcome the transition from school to university.
